Call for Submissions: Yearbook of International Disaster Law

The Yearbook of International Disaster Law has issued a call for submissions for its forthcoming eighth volume (2025). The General Section of the Yearbook provides an opportunity to interrogate a wide variety of aspects of the intersection of law and disasters, with a particular focus on issues relevant for international law. The Thematic Section will focus on “Vulnerabilities and Disasters.” The deadline for abstracts is March 6, 2026. The call is here.

Call for Submissions: Yearbook of International Disaster Law

The Yearbook of International Disaster Law has issued a call for submissions for its forthcoming seventh volume (2024). The Yearbook welcomes abstracts related to both its thematic section on "Armed Conflicts, Armed Forces and Disasters" and its "General section" on any legal issue relevant to international disaster law, implications for international law arising from disaster scenarios, recent practice in this area (e.g. international documents; case-law) or national analysis related to disaster law. The deadline is February 15, 2025. The call is here.

Expert Meeting: Is International Disaster Law Protecting Us?

On October 4-5, 2021, the Yearbook of International Disaster Law, in cooperation with the ASIL Disaster Law Interest Group and the Jean Monnet Project DILAW4E, will hold an expert meeting, in a hybrid manner, on "Is International Disaster Law Protecting Us?" The program and link to participate are here. Panels will address potential reforms of the international health law system, UN CCC CoP 26, sea-level rise and climate change law, and emerging/neglected questions of international disaster law.

Call for Submissions: Yearbook of International Disaster Law

A call for submissions has been issued for the inaugural volume of the Yearbook of International Disaster Law. Here's the call:

The Yearbook of International Disaster Law (YIDL) aims to foster the interest of academics and practitioners on legal and institutional issues relevant to all forms of natural, technological and human-made disasters, including rapid and slow onset events, but excluding events such as armed conflicts or political/financial crises per se. The YIDL is a double-blind peer review journal published by Brill/Nijhoff.

For its inaugural issue (vol. 1, 2018) the YIDL welcome submissions of abstracts for papers addressing topics pertaining to any issue of international disaster law. Abstracts shall be sent by 15th November 2018 at the e-mail address: info@yearbookidl.org The YIDL also welcomes suggestions for book reviews.

Abstracts should be between 700-1,000 words, including relevant citations. Authors are also kindly requested to attach a short curriculum vitae to their e-mail. Further details available in the attached call.
